So I had a friend of mine hinting towards trying Scouts out with the kids last year. Well things didn't pan out financially then but this year we gave it a shot and went to a couple meetings/outings. The kids seemed to love it so we are going to sign up with the help of my parents financially God bless them. I am training to be a leader in their Cub pack so I will be going along everywhere with them. Our first camp-out is next weekend and I think i'm just as excited as the kids lol. I know this will be fun for us and the kids will learn allot at the same time so a win win in my books.

My First Hunt

Finally the season has arrived albeit not without a little bit of a set back. I was all set to go having been up in Princeton the weekend before when two days before the trip my oil pump goes in the truck. I tried to scramble to get it fixed but couldn't make it happen in time so the plans changed and off in the mini van I go.

I can't complain though as I still made the trip and we still got out hunting. We used my Step Dad's 2 wheel drive pickup which got us mostly everywhere we wanted to go. No top of the mountain 4x4ing mind you but we still had a blast and I'm really looking forward to my next trip.
