Events this weekend

Well what a weekend indeed. First thing Saturday morning I attended a fishermans breakfast with about 30 of my fellow fly fishermen from church. We had a huge breakfast and they announced our yearly fly fishing weekend destination of Sheridan lake. This will be the third and final year for that area as we plan on fishing Roche lake for the 2010 trip. I am excited though as I have been trying to get my brother to come up with me and fish Higgins Lake for three years now and this time I believe he is coming. This little lake has consistently provided a 30+ fish day for us all for two years running. Kirk has never experienced that many fish in a day and I really want to provide that kind of experience for him. Directly after the fishermans breakfast I was off to a Geocaching 101 event where I had the opportunity to take out a brand new to geocaching couple and their daughter to a pair of close by geocaches. It was fun watching them experience finding the caches and showing them how to use thier GPS. Once back to the event room I had the pleasure of showing some of the attendees the iPhone geocaching application. My presentation was well received and I fielded quite alot of questions. I really enjoyed doing the presentation and teaching a couple new people all about my beloved hobby of Geocaching. Sunday we attended the Coquitlam Geocaching 101 event and had a chance to catch up with a few of our geocaching buddies from that area and I got to take out yet another newbie and show him the ropes. I think I am really starting to enjoy this teaching thing. Missed my calling perhaps? Who knows hey.

PS: Oh ya I also was lucky enough to get three FTF's (First to Finds) on three brand new just published Geocaches to top off a wonderful weekend.

See, now that's one heck of a fun day. Doing something you love, caching, and teaching others the game. Cool deal.
